A Remarkable Surgeon Who Gave Me Peace of Mind
In January, at the age of 82, I was hospitalized following my third attack of diverticulitis. Remarkably, I hadn’t been a hospital patient in 52 years—not since giving birth to my second daughter!
Upon my release, Dr. Gordon explained the seriousness of my condition and the risks of another attack, including the possibility of emergency surgery. He recommended that I consider elective surgery while I was at my healthiest, rather than wait for a potentially life-threatening emergency.
I went home determined to avoid surgery. I changed my eating habits, walked every day, and convinced myself that perhaps I could keep another attack at bay. I hemmed and hawed. I went back and forth. I even scheduled the surgery, only to postpone it because I simply couldn’t bring myself to face another hospitalization and the frightening possibility of ending up with a colostomy bag.
Throughout my indecision, Dr. Gordon was patient, honest, and straightforward. He never minimized the seriousness of my condition or the risks of surgery. Instead, he explained my options and their possible consequences, giving me the information and confidence I needed to make my own decision.
Ultimately, I put my trust in Dr. Gordon and committed to the surgery.
What was expected to be a relatively straightforward procedure turned into a much more complicated four-hour operation. Dr. Gordon removed my sigmoid colon, which was in far worse condition than anticipated. The extent of the inflammation and scarring confirmed just how serious my situation had become and how fortunate I was to have made the decision before another dangerous attack occurred.
Four days later, I walked out of the hospital with something I hadn’t fully appreciated I was missing: peace of mind about my future health.
Today, I feel fabulous! Physically, I feel stronger and healthier, and emotionally, I feel an enormous sense of relief. I no longer live with the constant worry of another devastating diverticulitis attack. And at 82, when every healthy year is especially precious, that peace of mind is an extraordinary gift.
All this is to say that if you ever find yourself in need of a surgeon, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Gordon. He is honest, compassionate, thorough in his explanations, and an exceptionally skilled surgeon. He respects his patients enough to tell them the truth, even when it isn’t what they want to hear.
Dr. Gordon didn’t simply perform a successful surgery. He gave me the confidence to face a frightening decision and the freedom to look toward my future with optimism rather than fear. For that, I am profoundly grateful.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was comfortable from the time I entered the office.

Dr Gordon is a competent and caring doctor. And his nurse, Erica and entire staff are the same. It is the best surgery experience I have ever had! Every effort is made to ensure your physical and emotional comfort and a successful outcome. Both Dr Gordon and Erica were there to answer every question or concern I had. I would trust this them with my family members and friends. And, of course, myself!

Dr. Gordon took a 2 inch tumor out of my left calf. He was very confident, extremely professional and pretty much saved my life without a doubt the best surgeon I’ve ever had concerning my melanoma. And I have had several melanoma surgeries. No doubt the best. !!!

I suspected a hernia..Dr. Gordon confirmed it. Planning surgery. I wouldn't want anybody else. He did my gastric bypass surgery ( with perfect results)...he's my doctor! So blessed and fortunate to have found him!
